John Jenks served 6 years in the Navy from 1968 to 1974. He spent 2 1/2 years aboard the destroyer USS Lyman K. Swenson (DD729) from 1968 to 1971 and made 2 WestPac cruises to Vietnam.  John was then stationed at NAS, Pt. Mugu, CA from 1971 to 1972.

John, also served in the California Army National Guard from 1983 to 1990.  First, with the Headquarters Company, 40^th Infantry Division and then in charge of the pharmacy with the 143^rd Evac Hospital, both at Los Alimitos, CA.
