WE REMEMBER

Fulfilling the soldier’s promise to never leave a fallen comrade behind on the battlefield is difficult, but we know how important the mission is to the families and to the military serving in uniform today. That’s why the VFW will always support this mission, and the men and women who accomplish it.

Memorial Day Wildomar

The yearly Memorial Day Service at the Wildomar Cemetery saw about 100 to 130 people come out to honor the servicemen and women that have fallen as they fought to preserve the American way of life. Master of ceremony was VFW 1508 Post Commander.

VFW RIDERS GROUP

A non-profit 501.C3 Organization, our main charities include but are not limited to; Chula Vista Veterans Home, Golden Age Games, Wheelchair Games, and Wounded Warriors Foundations. Our Chapters support the Department of California and their individual districts on many levels. We are unique in that we are comprised 100% of combat veterans. Our current members range from active duty, veterans, and retired members of the Armed Forces.

VFW Post 1508 is proud to represent Veterans in and around our community. whether by speaking at city council meetings, attending local event's or helping in various other ways.

Buddy Poppies

The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children. Show your support today. Host a Buddy Poppy drive in your town, or have your local government issue a special proclamation.

Welcome to Post 1508 The FLAGSHIP of the 3rd District
As Americas defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members, Veterans, and retirees into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and your sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.
 

To qualify for membership in the VFW you MUST meet the following TWO requirements:

1: Honorable Service – must have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and either received a discharge of Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) or be currently serving.

2: Service in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil or in hostile waters*. This can be proven by any of the following:

- An authorized campaign medal (see a full list of qualifying medals and badges)
- Receipt of Hostile Fire Pay or Imminent Danger Pay (verified by a military pay statement)
- Service in Korea for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days

*This information is usually available through a veteran’s DD-214. If other information is needed or if a veteran’s DD-214 is not complete, they can contact the National Personnel Records Center online or at 314.801.0800 to request more information.

If you are not eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars but you have a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling, or spouse who would be eligible then you may apply for membership in the VFW Auxiliary. You can learn more at vfwauxiliary.org.
